Middle Sister

Sunday we climbed Middle Sister from Obsidian Trailhead.  The route starts on trails leading up to Arrowhead Lake.  Use trails continue above Arrowhead Lake, but soon fade to open slopes.  We climbed up a mix of rocks and snowfields before reaching the saddle and following the use trail along the ridge to the summit.  There was cloud cover above the mountains all day, but minimal wind and no rain which made for good conditions.  We descended the same way.  Shortly above Arrowhead Lake, the clouds started to break and was had sunnier, warm weather for the remainder of the day.

Not much snow in the east side.  The snowfield below is what we skied on Memorial Day weekend.

Halfway up from the saddle.  This is the difficult section in the snow.  No problem today
